Last month I noted the number of illegals crossing the U.S.-Mexico border who were apprehended. It was a lot, a record number.
President Biden said at a rare press conference the increases were nothing more than seasonal shifts. Such a comment is either blatant ignorance or intentional deception made by someone who spent the last campaign in his basement with Paul von Hindenburg.
A total of 180,034 people were detained who tried to enter the country illegally in May, the highest number in more than two decades, Only about 8,000 of the 180,034 people whom border authorities encountered were denied entry at a port of entry. The remainder went across the border through unfenced areas.
Since October 2020, a total of 929,868 people have been encountered unlawfully trying to enter the U.S. from Mexico, twice already the amount in all of 2020. No problem here, Mr. Biden.
It is not clear what is the disposition and fate of these so-called detainees. Were they taken back across the border, released in the United States with their promise to appear in some Court at some later date (oh yeah), just released out right, put up in detentions camps, lodged in a nearby hotel? What?
However, as I have said before, in addition to the disposition and return of any of those caught is how many were not apprehended or detained? The numbers are staggering
The new Administration is not serious about illegal immigration. Sending the clueless Vice President to Central America as a stunt and diversion was telling. Benign neglect would be more acceptable but their policies actions and attitude have now created an even bigger mess at the border, in the surrounding border states and this is not going to end well or end at all for that matter.
