What kind of a person steals a pumpkin?
Up until last week, there was a beautiful, giant pumpkin adorning the front entrance of my house. It was placed there as a recognition and celebration of the season. To show passersby, friends and neighbors that Fall and Halloween are upon us all.
It is no more.
Some despicable thief stole the bright orange, huge vegetable orb. Someone swooped in the dark night to pluck it out of its rightful place.
What kind of person would do that? Is this what we have become? No respect for property and an intention to take what is not yours, ruining it for everyone who would drive by and see this mammoth wonder. No moral compass, no sense of right and wrong. No shame. Just selfish, entitled pigs.
Who was it? Misguided youths? Hooligans? Terrorists, petty criminals, some drunk driving home, neighbors? One thing is for sure, it was someone who could hoist this pumpkin into a waiting, idling vehicle, then screech off like cowards.
This is a sad state of affairs. I do not like thieves and that is what they are. And, what are they going to do with it? Eat it? Roast the seeds, carve it up, or hit it with a baseball bat? It certainly wasn’t donating it to a church, community festival or charity for display. Are pumpkins so rare that a person could not get their own?
I hope the perpetrators have eternal nightmares (among other consequences.) about being attacked by the pumpkins of this world.
I miss you big guy!
Wow! That’s really rotten. I’m sorry I missed this post, we could have formed a posse and hunted the mongrol down. You should have called out the police with the infared copters and found this infadel. Dissing your festive decorations is a crime against all who pass by your house. It’s just sad!
