Nail Biter: Thank goodness for Democrats, we are saved.

The Democrats are moving once again to save America, its worker and addressing one of the most pressing and horrible problems of modern times. Democrats wants the Obama administration to create stronger protections for nail salon workers. Thank goodness, I am relieved. 

There apparently is a deep concerned caused recent media reports highlighting dangerous working conditions for those in the nail salon industry. I read the articles and agree it is horrific. Exploitation it seems to me of illegal immigrants who work for peanuts and are scared out of their wits. Why the employers hire those that entered the country illegally-against the law-is another story, mostly of greed and desperation. 

The New York Times reports the majority of manicurists in New York City are paid below minimum wage, with many experiencing physical and verbal abuse from employers. They can also have serious health issues from prolonged exposure to the chemicals used in nail and beauty products, 

I am glad the Democrats are trying to focus attention on this issue. It wolld be a national tragedy if well-heeled women could not get their nail buffed and shined. Who cares about other stuff and I hope all the exploiters are coated head to toe in some hideous polish. Democrats are on it.
