Congress: Not much to see, yet

The Administration, Congressional Democrats and the Republican-majority in Congress continue to ignore a fundamental rule of democracy and that is cooperate and compromise.  

With Senate Democrats taking the obstructionist tactics employed in the last Congress by Republicans, there is little legislative movement on the Senate floor. However, the process in the various committees continues and will eventually result in a budget, appropriation bills, and addressing the debt ceiling among other issues. 

Foreign policy matters are soaking up much attention of the Administration. Iran, Yemen, Israel, ISIS dominant the news with only an occasional new program proposal by the President interrupting. In addition, Presidential politics is starting earlier than usual with the attacks and defenses of soon to announce Hillary Clinton dominating the news cycle and a gaggle of Republicans all vying for attention and money.

Not much to see here yet, but it is coming.
