One for my dear family members has revised a prediction that Mr. Trump would be out in six months, now the opinion is ninety days. Not going to happen but it reflects wishful thinking on the part of many disgruntled people.
President Trump is a hard person to figure out. Impatient, volatile, not very tactful, reactive, and shallow thinker all come to mind. (I am being kind here) He is a difficult leader to understand. His surrounding advisors and well as himself do not seem to have a basic understanding of the important processes of government which lead to missteps that scream incompetence. It did not have to be that way.
Trump was elected-in spite of his outrageous personal public shortcoming-because enough voters had enough of the nanny state, whinny big government and alienating ways of Mr. Obama, a general distrust of Mrs. Clinton and a real need to shake things up. I am all for shaking things up and taking different approaches.
What is difficult is to separate the persona of Mr. Trump and his propensity to govern by Tweeting and what the actual substance is being put forth. I find myself ignoring the former or listening to constant private and public Trump bashing to what the new Administration is trying to accomplish, some of it I agree with and some of it I do not. If President Trump continues to make it all about him and not being able to communicate what the goals are, he will come up short.
In a certain respect, I am astounding by the opposition to Mr. Trump. It is an anti-trumpism and those that are engaging in the constant barrage are anti-trumpites. The display on Capitol Hill by the Democrats is appalling and beyond the pale of politics. If these kinds of antics had occurred under Mr. Obama, the brands of racism would be applied. Everything is opposed, delayed. Politics is one thing but from where does this hatred come? I believe it will prove not to obstruct the agenda of the Republicans but will turn off voters except the most dedicated believer of the evil of Mr. Trump. We all deserve better, the country deserves better.
The poison is in the air, the toxic fumes are everywhere. Not sure what is going to change this.
